Chocolate Pound Cake






The chocolate cake is the dream of chocolate lovers: a rich chocolate cake and a thick layer of silky and smooth ganache! This dense dessert is easily transportable and quite simple or decadent for any occasion!

Ingredients

For the cake:
  • 1/2 c cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 eggs, large
  • 1/4 c milk
  • 1 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 c Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 c butter, melted
  • 1 tsp chocolate extract
  • 1 1/2 c all purpose flour

For the ganache:
  • 1/4 c heavy cream
  • 1/2 c chocolate, chopped

Instructions

First, preheat your oven to 350 ° F and prepare an 8.5 "loaf pan by placing a rectangle of parchment at the bottom of the pan, then coating with cooking spray.

Then, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.

In another bowl, whisk together the yogurt, sugar, eggs and melted butter.

Stir in chocolate extract and milk, mix until smooth.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry until the dough collects.

Pour the mixture into the mold and bake for 55 to 60 minutes, until a cake tester comes out clean.

Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Add the heavy cream to a mixing bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, then add the chopped chocolate and mix until smooth.

Transfer the cake to a wire rack placed on a baking sheet and spread the ganache over the cake.

Let cool another 10 to 15 minutes, slice and serve.

Store the remaining cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Happy Cooking Time.
