Authentic Carne Asada







Authentic Carne Asada is an easy dinner made by grilling beef after marinating with citrus, soy and spices. A quick grill on high heat gives a burnt edge for a rich, deep flavor.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno minced
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 limes juiced
  • 2 pounds flank or skirt steak

Instructions

First, in a one-gallon resealable bag, combine lime juice, crushed garlic, orange juice, cilantro, salt, pepper, olive oil, jalapeƱo pepper and vinegar. Press it to mix it.

Then, put all the flank steak in the resealable bag. Close it tightly. Make sure all the meat is exposed to the marinade, crushing the bag to coat it. 
Refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.

Heat an outdoor grill over high heat.

Remove the flank steak from the marinade and discard the excess marinade. Cook on the grill for 7-10 minutes on each side.
When finished, remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve. Happy Cooking Time.
