Turtle Thumbprint Cookies
Get ready to

Ingredients
Cookie
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs (1 egg with egg and yolk separated + 1 additional egg white)
Caramel
Filling
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- 14 Kraft Caramels
Chocolate
Drille
- 2 squares Chocolate Candy Coating
Instructions
First, preheat
the oven to 350.
Then, combine
flour, cocoa and salt in a bowl and set aside.
Beat the
butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg yolk,
milk and vanilla. Mix until homogeneous.
Add the dry
ingredients and mix well.
Refrigerate
1 hour.
Mix 2 egg whites
in a bowl until they are frothy. Place the chopped pecans in another bowl.
Roll the
chilled dough into 1 to 1½ inch balls, dip in the egg whites, then roll in the
pecans. Place on a greased baking sheet.
Use ½
teaspoon to make a cave in the center of each ball.
Bake for 11
to 12 minutes. Let cool.
Place the
caramels and cream in a small bowl and microwave until smooth, stopping and
stirring occasionally.
Fill the
fingerprints in the cookie with the caramel mixture.
Melt the
candy coating by placing it in a small saucepan over low heat and stirring
constantly. Pour the chocolate into a ziploc bag with the cut corner and
sprinkle with cookies. Let it set.
