Almond Crescent Cookies
Almond
Crescent Cookies - These traditional Austrian kipferl cookies are one of my
favorite holiday cookies and take almost no time to prepare!
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup almonds, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon organic vanilla extract
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup dairy-free butter, softened
- 3/4 cup organic powdered sugar
- Organic powdered sugar for sprinkling the cookie tops
Instructions
First, In
large bowl, beat vegan butter, organic powdered sugar and vanilla extract with
hand mixer until light and fluffy.
Then, Add
the flour, baking soda, yeast and mix well.
Add the oats
and almonds. Mix well.
Form small
long logs and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
After
placing them on the sheet, bend them in small croissants.
Bake at 325
° C for 15 minutes.
Remove from
the oven and place on grids.
Using a fine
sieve, sprinkle the powdered sugar on top while the cookies are still hot.
Cool
completely.
Serve or
refrigerate or freeze.
