Almond Flour Chocolate Cake
Naturally
gluten free, this cake is made with almond flour for a perfect taste and
texture to match with rich dark chocolate. If you have a strong craving for
chocolate, cook it.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (not fine salt)
- 1 cup blanched almond flour (4 oz)
- 1 teaspoon melted unsalted butter for pan
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (not Dutch processed)
INSTRUCTIONS
First, Preheat
the oven to 325 degrees F. Line a 9-inch glass baking sheet with a circle of
parchment paper. Grease the mold well.
Then, In a
large bowl, whisk together eggs, honey and vanilla extract.
Gradually
add almond flour and cocoa powder.
Finally, add
salt and baking soda. The dough will be pretty thin.
Pour the
dough into the prepared pan. Cook until center is cooked and a toothpick
inserted in comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool the
cake on a rack until it reaches room temperature, about 30 minutes, then slice
and serve. Keep leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for a
maximum of one week.
