A light and
fluffy chocolate cake with the simplest fudge glaze you've ever seen. Our
classic chocolate cake recipe is easy to follow. Whether you're preparing it
for a family party or treat, it's a success!
INGREDIENTS
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt*
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
INSTRUCTIONS
First, Preheat
the oven to 350 ° F. Grease and flour 2 round 9-inch cake pans.
Then, In a
large bowl, combine oil and sugars until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. It
will look like wet sand.
Whisk the
eggs one at a time.
Add sour
cream and vanilla and whisk until well blended.
Add the
flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt, and stir until
everything is well mixed. The dough will be thick.
Stir in hot
water until all is mixed.
Spread the
dough evenly between the prepared mussels.
Bake for 25
to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out
with some pasty crumbs attached.
Place the
pans on a rack and let them cool for 20 minutes.
Place a thin
knife around the edge of each cake to detach it from the broiler pan and invert
the cakes on the rack. I like to lightly spray the cooling rack with a nonstick
spray to prevent the cake from sticking.
Cool
completely before frosting. Happy Cooking Time.
