Cinnamon Star Bread


 Cinnamon Star Bread



With cinnamon icing and sweet frosting, this Cinnamon Star Spread may be a festive alternative to classic cinnamon buns.


INGREDIENTS

For the dough:

1½ cup predicament (110 degrees F / 45 degrees C)

1 tablespoon instant yeast

2 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour

To assemble star bread:

1/2 cup sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 egg

For decoration (optional):

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 to 2 tablespoons of water


INSTRUCTIONS

Make the dough:

1.In a bowl of a standing mixer equipped with a dough hook, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar (the dough portion). Let stand until thickened, about 5 minutes.

2.For the yeast mixture, add butter (dough portion), salt and a couple of cups flour. Stir at low speed until all ingredients begin to mix .

3.Still on low speed, add the remaining 1 cup of flour and stir for an additional 1 minute.

4.Add the remaining 1 cup flour. Stir at low speed until the last addition of flour is totally incorporated into the mixture. speed to medium and knead until the dough 

5.Remove the bowl from the mixer and canopy with a kitchen towel. Let the dough rise during a warm place until it's doubled in size, about 20 minutes.

6.When the dough expands, prepare a filling / egg wash. during a small bowl, combine sugar (assembly portion) and cinnamon. In another small bowl, melt the butter. within the third small bowl, beat the eggs.

7.Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Dough form:

8.Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and form a ball. employing a serrated knife, slice the dough into three equal pieces.

9.Working with one portion of dough at a time, roll it in 12-inch circles (no got to be precise - it doesn't matter if it's messy!). Transfer the dougto the prepared baking . Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar mixture.

10.Make a second circle an equivalent size because the first. Place it on top of the circle coated with filler. Repeat the method of adding butter, then remaining half the cinnamon sugar. Decorate with the ultimate circle dough.

11.Place alittle 3-inch bowl or round kitchen utensil within the center of the dough.

12.Use a serrated knife to chop 16 strips from the middle of the bowl out of the dough, cutting all layers.

13.Using both hands, take two adjacent strips and rotate them outward, exposing the liner inside. Pinch the ends of the strips together and tuck away a touch . Repeat with all remaining dough to make 8 rays on the star.

14.Remove the bowl from the middle of the dough. Let the dough rise for 20 minutes.

15.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

16.Before baking, spread the bread with beaten egg.

17.Bake until browned, 15 to 17 minutes.

18.Ice bread (optional)

19.Beat granulated sugar , vanilla and 1 tbsp. Tablespoon of water. Gradually add more water until the frosting is soft and falls off easily. Sprinkle with bread.

20.Serve immediately.
