TERIYAKI STEAK BITES
Teriyaki
Steak Bites are a restaurant-quality recipe prepared with a tender, tender
steak, a tasty Teriyaki marinade and garnished with fresh and crispy sesame
seeds and shallots.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 Tbsp corn starch
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 tsp sesame seed oil
- Olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3-3 1/2 lbs thick cut top sirloin steaks cut into bite size pieces
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 large onion sliced into 1/4-inch wedges
- 1 Tbsp light brown sugar
- 1 large green bell pepper seeded and thinly sliced (Or a poblano pepper)
Instructions
First, Cut
the steak into small cubes about 3/4 ".
Then, In a
small bowl, combine teriyaki, brown sugar, corn starch, sesame seed oil, garlic
powder, garlic salt and red pepper flakes. Whisk until brown sugar and corn
starch are completely dissolved.
Pour over
the bites and mix until the mixture is well coated.
Sprinkle a
large skillet (12 inches) with olive oil. Turn on high heat.
Once the pan
is hot, cook the steak in several times. (Reduce heat to medium-high if
necessary to avoid burns) Cook for 4-6 minutes total, turning as needed. Adjust
the cooking time to the desired cooking time.
Place in a
dish and keep warm until all steaks are cooked. Add extra olive oil between
batches as needed.
Add the
green pepper and onion in the pan. Sauté for 2-3 minutes over medium-high heat
or until tender and crisp. Adjust the salt, if necessary. (The cooking juice
left in the pan will season the vegetables)
Add the
steak bites to the pan and stir to distribute.
Remove the
pan from the heat and serve.
